The Database Administrator's primary purpose is to ensure database performance and availability in a SQL Server 24x7 environment. This position will work in a team environment and provide technical knowledge and expertise to other team members.

Duties: |
Install, configure, upgrade, monitor, maintain and manage multiple SQL Server databases
Review, approve and create database logical and physical designs
Implement and optimize Data Warehouse, OLAP and Reporting solutions using Analysis and Reporting Services
Perform database and application tuning
Perform code review and provide consultation to development teams
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Implement and maintain database security
Provide 24x7 support in an on call rotation with other staff members
Setup and maintain documentation and standards
Integrate third party software and databases with corporate databases
Mentor and train other staff as necessary
Attend meetings and training as required

Qualifications: |
2 or 4 yr degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience required
5+ years maintaining SQL Server mission critical databases
4+ years TSQL programming
2+ years implementing and maintaining database replication
Ability to work with technical and non-technical people
Problem solving skills are a must
Ability to meet deadlines
