| The Director of Procurement buys, rents or otherwise procures materials, equipment and supplies for the Company. |
Duties: |
Essential
1. Responsible for all procurement activities and rental equipment for the Company and for writing all Company procurement policies and procedures
2. Evaluates procurement tracking systems for cost effectiveness. Recommends changes to the system.
3. Maintains a customer friendly service mentality among all procurement professionals and warehouse employees.
4. Achieves consistency of quality and effectively controls pricing on purchases and rentals.
5. Prioritizes and expedites order delivery consistent with ‘best in class’ within the industry standards.
6. Expert negotiator and problem solver. Drives prices down while maintaining relationships with quality vendors.
7. Acts as an effective liaison between the procurement function and SBU Operations within the Company.
8. Visits job sites routinely to stay up on anticipated field needs.
9. Effectively manages subordinates and develops future leaders.
10. At project start up, ensures timely scheduling of critical path items (e.g., hollow metal, re-bar, roof systems, etc) to ensure that the project schedule is maintained.

Qualifications: |
Essential
1. Has bachelor’s degree in business (MBA preferred) with 8 plus years of experience in procurement in the construction industry.
2. Has integrity: maintains high standards of ethics, conduct, and organizational policies in job-related activities.
3. Good working knowledge of computers and related software.
4. Reads and understands financial reports, basic accounting systems, etc.
5. Ability to perform essential duties and responsibilities efficiently, accurately, and safely, with or without reasonable accommodation, and without posing a threat of harm to self or others.
6. Has good organizational skills; is able to prioritize tasks effectively.
7. Adapts well to change
