We are looking for a Software Developer to join our Software Engineering and Release team. The Software Developer works with a focused team of motivated software developers and QA engineers in the development of our retail management software.
Specific responsibilities include:
· Building and releasing software packages for a range of retail software products;
· Developing tools that improve the product engineering life cycle;
· Working closing with development teams to ensure software is released only when appropriate and support the resolution of build/configuration issues within a process quality environment;
· Helping set and implement standards for the software development process and managing/maintaining tools such as CVS/Subversion, Jira/Confluence, automated build scripts, product installer and other Configuration Management tools and frameworks;
· Providing support to engineering organizations with building management, release management and other Configuration Management services;
· Performing database loads, creating back-ups and restores, and setting priorities for the database via written queries;
· Maintaining and development new tools/frameworks that use Java and J2EE application technologies;
· Participating in the planning, scheduling and execution of tasks to meet all the milestones throughout the software product lifecycle; and
· Other tasks and assigned and needed.
The successful candidate must possess:
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related area (equivalent work experience will be considered);
· 0-3 years experience in a similar role;
· Experience in two or more of the following script languages: Ant, Make, Maven, UNIX Shell, Perl and Bash;
· Experience with any of the following tools: CVS/Subversion, Maven, CruiseControl, and Bamboo;
· Experience with deploying J2EE applications to Weblogic or other major application server platforms;
· Experience with UNIX, Linux, and/or NT;
· Experience with relational databases;
· Experience with Apache, HTTP, Java and C++,
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
· Ability to communicate technical data effectively with customers;
· Ability to work in a fast paced team environment;
· Results-oriented personality with the ability to meet tough deadlines; and
· Ability to work independently.
