Job Title: Manager, Sales and Business Development
Department: Special Projects Engineering (SPE)
Reports To: Director
SUMMARY
The Manager of Sales and Business Development is responsible for working with the Director to establish realistic sales objectives and strategies. They are also responsible for producing increased revenue streams each year and cultivate / maintain excellent relationships with client base. The business development will focus on both domestic and international project cargo, break bulk cargo and turnkey heavy lift project management.

Duties: |
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Develop source of revenue which will consistently exceed sales quota objectives:
o New sales and increased current client revenue streams.
o Consistent method of prospecting:
§ Intelligent prospect qualification
§ Secure project cargo RFPs
§ Preparation of sales presentation
§ Develop new markets
o Promote / maintain Client relationships:
o Perform appropriate prospect / Client entertainment
· Inform Executive Management of all revenue generating opportunities:
o Provide “steady state” communications to ensure management team is cognizant of activity
o Formulate and “move forward” new ideas / enabling acts to promote SPE visibility
· Assist in implementation of turnkey project management
· 50%+ travel required

Qualifications: |
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
At this time, this position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. As the sales staff is increased in the future, these responsibilities will be designated and assigned as applicable. This position will be responsible for managing and maintaining relationships with outside sales contractors and alliance partners.
QUALIFICATIONS
§ Minimum of five years sales experience
o Preferably within the project cargo management, heavy lift and/or logistics management industry
o Experience selling government, commercial and industrial accounts
· Proven sales results in previous position
· Must be able to qualify, present and close prospects:
o Ability to sell throughout the prospects organization (executive – lower echelon levels) is key ingredient which must be present
· Demonstrated initiative, leadership, planning ability and strong work ethic
· Intelligent, pleasant personality and neatly groomed
· Clearly communicate ideas – both real and abstract
· Should be equally comfortable in strategic as well as tactical situations
· Must be able to function well within a team environment
· Must be skilled in lead generation, driving sales and sustaining relationships
· Strong organizational skills
· Understanding of DOT regulations, ANSI/ASME standards and international freight forwarding
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Candidate must be a college graduate with a preference of advanced degree or minimum of three years project cargo experience. Degree in Engineering, Business or Marketing is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
PC literate – strong skills in Microsoft Power Point, Word and Excel required.
Fluent in Mandarin Chinese a plus
